The Turkmen delegation visited Qatar to hold talks on investments, as well as cooperation in the fields of transport, trade and finance. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

On October 16 and 17, representatives of Turkmenistan, headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Berdyniyaz Myatiev , held a series of meetings with Qatari officials.

At the talks with the State Minister for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al-Muraiki, the parties discussed the expansion of bilateral relations in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian spheres.

“Investment projects in various sectors of the economy” were discussed with the leadership of the Ministry of Energy, the information report says.

Cooperation in the financial and banking sectors was the topic of discussion at a meeting with the leaders of the Qatar Development Bank.

It should be reminded that on October 7, Berdyniyaz Myatiev held a meeting with Chargé d’Affaires of Qatar Mohammed Meskhel Al-Otaibi , at which they discussed the possibility of a visit by the President of Turkmenistan to Qatar.

On August 30, Turkmen  Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov had a telephone conversation  with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar  , Mohammed bin Abdel Rahman Al Thani . The diplomats discussed the possibility of organizing an official visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov  to Qatar, as well as organizing political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries by the end of autumn.
