Direct flights from Korea to Kyrgyzstan to be launched from June 11

The first direct flight from the Republic of Korea to Kyrgyzstan is planned to be launched on June 11, 2023.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic said that a meeting was held between Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Korea, Aida Ismailova, and President of the T'way airline, Yong Hong Kyung, during which the issue of launching the flight was raised.

The Korean side informed about the planned launch of direct flights from June 11, 2023 on a weekly basis (on Sundays) for the summer period, the report said.

Yong Hong Kyung emphasized that the company specially purchased new Boeing 737 aircraft for flights to Kyrgyzstan. 'Currently, the company is completing the relevant procedures for operating flights,' he said.

In turn, the ambassador noted that the Kyrgyz side is interested in opening direct flights and is ready to provide comprehensive assistance.

'The opening of direct flights between the countries will give an impetus to the development of political, economic, cultural and humanitarian contacts,' she added.

In conclusion, Ismailova invited the management of T'way to visit the Kyrgyz Republic in honor of the opening of direct flights in the near future.
