‘It is well known that the deadline for submitting the updated Third Generation of the Nationally Determined Contributions document (NDC 3.0) to the Secretariat is February 2025. I call on all the parties from this platform to submit the documents on time and determine the goals, contributing to keeping the 1.5 degrees target within reach,’ Mukhtar Babayev, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, COP29 President-Designate, said Monday during the inaugural Baku Climate Action Week (BCAW2024). According to him, the drafting of Azerbaijan’s NDC 3.0 document and the Low-Emission Development Strategy (LEDS) is progress. He also noted that in order to ensure engagement, the regular public hearings are held, with the thoughts of the civil society and academic circles being considered. In this vein, Mukhtar Babayev expressed hope for fruitful collaboration with the relevant state bodies. Source: Azerbaijan State News Agency
