During the shooting at the University of Perm, a student from Turkmenistan helped 20 students to evacuate

On September 20, a student started shooting on the territory of the Perm State National Research University. Six people died, 24 were injured.

During those events, a third-year student of the Faculty of Chemistry from Turkmenistan, Ovezberdi Sabyrov, helped a group of students quickly evacuate off campus, the university's press service reported on September 26.

At the time of the tragedy, the young man was on the 1st floor and was waiting for the start of the pair, when the sounds of shots were heard. Students ran by, shouting "They're shooting!" When the student saw that the shooter had already wounded the guard, it became clear that the students were not joking, the situation is very serious.

Ovezberdi gathered all his Turkmen and Russian friends, as well as those who were nearby, and led them towards the seventh building, where the officers showed the group an evacuation exit.

“Having appeared next to the emergency exit of the building, the student saw that he would not be able to run out first and call for help as soon as possible: there were too many people at the exit. Then Ovezberdi jumped from the first floor out the window, ran off the campus, warned passers-by about the danger on the way and called the police, ”the news says.

“I tried to explain to the students who were around that now it is important not to panic, you need to quickly find a way out,” the young man said.

It is reported that Ovezberdi Sabyrov served in the army for two years in Turkmenistan, where he learned to act correctly in such situations.

“During his time in the army, he learned how to act correctly in such situations and knew for sure that first it was necessary to evacuate people, then inform the police,” the press service of the university said.

The commander of the engineering company A. Rakhymov, with whom representatives of the university apparently contacted, speaks of Sergeant Ovezberdi Sabyrov as a calm and honest colleague who enjoyed authority and was distinguished by diligence in daily official activities.
