On November 30, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov , who is in Tajikistan to participate in the Central Asia - Republic of Korea Forum, the press service of the head of state reported .
Emomali Rahmon stressed the importance of organizing the Economic Cooperation Organization Summit and expressed gratitude to the Turkmen side for the sincere welcome.
With the head of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry, President Rahmon discussed the need for consistent implementation of previously reached agreements and comprehensive preparation for the official return visit of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Tajikistan.
The parties also considered the current state of cooperation between the two countries within the framework of international organizations, as well as important issues on the international and regional agenda.
The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan did not report on the discussion of the return visit . The news release says that "the parties noted the ongoing development of the Turkmen-Tajik interaction."
During the visit, Rashid Meredov also held talks with Korean Foreign Minister Jong Ui Young . The officials noted the positive dynamics of the development of partnership between the two countries in bilateral and multilateral formats.
As for the Forum, its agenda included four topics - cooperation in the field of forestry, green energy, health and digital technologies.
In his speech, the head of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry noted "the country's contribution to the development of a" green "economy, including the expansion of the environmental component of such industries as energy and industry ." The diplomat also touched upon important issues of joint activities in the health sector, including contribution to the common fight against the spread of coronavirus .
