Early voting begins in presidential elections in Turkmenistan

In the presidential elections in Turkmenistan, according to the Electoral Code of the country, early voting began.

According to the Central Election Commission of the country, the early voting procedure is primarily provided for citizens who, for one reason or another, on election day on March 12 will not be able to come and vote at their polling station. You can vote early from 8:00 to 18:00.

Also, the Central Commission for holding elections and referendums in Turkmenistan emphasizes that 2577 polling stations of the country and 41 polling stations established abroad under the diplomatic missions of Turkmenistan are ready for the elections.

At the moment, the monitoring of elections, in addition to national observers, is carried out by observers from the Commonwealth of Independent States. They have already visited some polling stations in Ashgabat, where they got acquainted with the work of election commissions, technical equipment of polling stations, methodological support of commissions, work with voter lists and directly observed the progress of early voting. All observers were given the opportunity to visit polling stations in the capital and all velayats (regions) of the country both before the elections and on voting day.
