EBRD allocates €700,000 for salaries of seven people to control projects

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is providing a €700,000 grant to pay salary to a special group of experts. The Deputy Finance Minister Ruslan Tatikov said at a meeting of the Committee on International Affairs, Defense, Security and Migration.

According to him, the money will be used to pay seven people for six years.

«This is a grant, we will not buy anything. The entire amount will be spent on salaries and travel expenses. They will oversee 21 projects financed by an EBRD loan totaling €129 million. The organization wants to ratify it through Parliament in order to exempt it from taxes,» Ruslan Tatikov said.

The deputy minister assured the deputies that people would be recruited to the group according to the criteria of the EBRD.

«Some deputies say that we will recruit relatives. It is not true. Everyone who wishes can participate. Candidates will be selected by the Ministry of Finance and Gosstroy,» he replied.

MP Adakhan Madumarov noted that each loan agreement provides for expenses on paying to experts.
