At the Cabinet session held on 16 August Purli Agamyradov, Deputy Prime Minister overseeing science, education, healthcare and sports, presented an action plan which will be implemented within the framework of the month of road traffic rules to President Gurbanguly Bedymukhammedov.
The state information agency TDH reports that the annual campaign entitled Road safety as a key to safe life is scheduled to be held from 1 to 30 September, 2019.
Pursuant to the plan, throughout September theme-based conferences will be organized and conducted in ministries and agencies, specially-designated material will be published and TV programs will be broadcast. Moreover, outreach program will be carried out to teach road safety rules to drivers and pedestrians.
Berdymukhammedov charged Agamyradov with the task of engaging ecocycling groups of the Interior Ministry in awareness-raising campaigns for children with the view of preventing road accidents. For example, the groups will be keeping vigil near schools.
Let us recall that on 8 August, after a trial run of bike rentals in Avaza the head of state instructed Minister of the Interior Isgender Mulikov to set up the police ecocycling group in the law enforcement authorities. Three ecocycling stations were opened in the recreational zone by the international group of companies ARET, managed by Igor Makarov.
Interestingly enough, these stations are referred to as ecocycling by the President as they are equipped with solar panels and meet the environmental requirements. No explanations have been provided why the police squadron was called ECOcycling.
