Ashgabat hosted an international conference "Environmental aspects of hydrocarbon production" in a hybrid format. The forum was organized by the state concerns "Turkmengaz", "Turkmenneft", the state corporation "Turkmengeology" in partnership with the economic society "Turkmen Forum" and with the support of the British company Gaffney Cline.
The meeting was attended by heads of relevant ministries, departments, representatives of international missions accredited in Turkmenistan and journalists.
The forum participants discussed the environmental aspects of hydrocarbon development, the transition to green energy, the use of hydrogen as a fuel, the reduction of methane emissions, and others.
At the conference, it was noted that Turkmenistan takes an active position in the development of balanced solutions to the pressing problems of our time. In particular, a lot of work is being done in the country to use the possibilities of renewable energy, diversify the energy sector of the country's economy, respect natural resources, etc. The forum participants were acquainted with the key aspects of the state environmental policy, programs and projects implemented in the field of environmental protection at the national, regional and international levels.
Within the framework of the forum, meetings were held between representatives of the Turkmen fuel and energy complex and their foreign colleagues. During these negotiations, the directions for further cooperation in the field of environmental protection in the development of oil and gas fields were discussed.
