Experts of the Caspian states focus on the safety of navigation in the Caspian Sea

The representatives of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation arrived in Ashgabat to discuss the draft of the Protocol of cooperation to ensure the safety of navigation in the Caspian Sea. The meeting took place in the conference hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The issues on preventing sea vessels crash, protecting the life and health of crews and passengers, ensuring the integrity of transport and cargoes were discussed during the meeting.

In this context, the meeting agenda focused on the requirements for equipment, equipage of vessels, the implementation of relevant norms and standards, and the professional level of crews. The sides also discussed rescue activities, investigation of catastrophes, prevention of dangerous external conditions for navigation, including pollution of the marine environment, harmful consequences of submarine cables, pipelines, drilling platforms, etc.
