The farmers of Turkmenistan fulfilled their contractual obligations for the procurement of bread, having collected one and a half million tons of wheat. This was announced at an extended meeting of the country's government by Deputy Prime Minister Annageldi Yazmyradov, who oversees the agro-industrial complex.
He noted that thanks to large-scale state support, the country's grain growers sold about 1 million 500 thousand tons of grain to the state and honorably fulfilled their obligations.
In turn, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the Turkmen grain growers on the successful fulfillment of contractual obligations for the harvesting of wheat. The head of state stressed that this great success was made possible thanks to the selfless work of tenants, private producers, machine operators, scientists, as well as all rural workers who took part in the grain harvest campaign.
According to experts, wheat production is of particular relevance against the backdrop of recent forecasts about the possibility of a global food crisis.
