Sheki: A serious car accident took place in Sheki, resulting in the death of a father and serious injuries to his young child and a teenager, APA's Northwest bureau reports. The incident occurred at approximately 02:00 a.m. on a section of the Garamaryam-Ismayilli-Sheki highway within the Sheki district.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, a Mercedes driven by Tavakkul Islam Shiraliyev, a resident of Sheki city born in 1981, crashed into a roadside tree after the driver lost control of the vehicle. The accident led to severe consequences for the occupants of the car.

As a result of the crash, the driver, T. Shiraliyev, his son, Kenan Tavakkul Shiralizade, born in 2016, and the child's cousin, Fagan Shahin Gojayev, born in 2010, sustained injuries and were immediately taken to the Intensive Care Unit of Sheki District Central Hospital. Despite medical efforts, T. Shiraliyev could not be saved.

According to the Sheki regional group of the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a criminal case has been initiated in connection with the incident, and an investigation is currently underway.
