Starting next month, interpretation services will be available for foreign residents who have difficulty carrying out financial transactions.
The Financial Supervisory Service said Monday that it will launch the interpretation service in cooperation with the Justice Ministry's Immigration Contact Center on Tuesday.
Under the new service, foreigners living in South Korea will be able to settle their financial affairs with the help of interpreters stationed at the financial watchdog's call center.
The services will be available in 19 languages such as Chinese, Vietnamese, Filipino, Cambodian and Pakistani, among others.
The call center can be reached by dialing 1332.
