First China – Central Asia summit to be held in May

The first China — Central Asia — China summit will take place in May 2023. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Kyrgyzstan Du Dewen announced at a press conference on Thursday.

According to her, last year the President of China Xi Jinping and the heads of state of Central Asia held an online summit. It was timed to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. Then it was decided to develop a special mechanism for cooperation.

«The first summit of the mechanism will take place this year. During the summit the six countries will create platforms for cooperation in various fields in order to strengthen political trust and mutually beneficial cooperation,» Du Dewen said.
