Baku: Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has accused certain major powers of orchestrating a smear campaign against Azerbaijan, particularly during the recent COP29 conference. Speaking at a joint press conference with Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili, Bayramov highlighted the increasing interference by these powers in the internal politics of countries that pursue independent policies, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Bayramov argued that the interference is a reaction to Azerbaijan and similar nations implementing sovereign policies that align with their national interests rather than the demands of powerful external entities. He noted that while there may be various pretexts for such interference, the underlying motive is evident in Azerbaijan's efforts to restore its territorial integrity in compliance with international law. Bayramov emphasized that despite these attempts to undermine Azerbaijan, a state policy rooted in national interests and supported by its people remains resilient against external pressures.
