At a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on September 16, Deputy Prime Minister Esenmyrat Orazgeldiev , who is in charge of the agro- industrial complex, reported on the planned reconstruction of the race track in the Balkan Equestrian Complex of the State Association "Turkmen Horses".
In 2020, it is planned to hold celebrations and races on the occasion of the National holiday of the Turkmen horse, the TDH state news agency reports .
According to the Resolution signed by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov , “Türkmen atlary” is allowed to conclude a contract with the economic company “Berk ýol” for the reconstruction of the race track with the laying of modern flooring . The work should start in September and be completed in April 2022.
In November 2020, Berdymukhamedov signed a decree on the reconstruction of the Mary equestrian center and laying modern flooring on the race track. The work was entrusted to the same firm "Berk ýol".
In March of the same year, on the instructions of the President, the repair of the equestrian center in Turkmenabat began.
In February 2020, it became known that Turkmenistan purchased sand for racing tracks from the English company Andrews Bowen Ltd. totaling £ 1 million. As one of the representatives of the British company noted, despite the fact that there is a whole desert in Turkmenistan, the sand from the Karakum Desert is not suitable for covering due to too rounded grains of sand.
