On February 21, the Russian Embassy in Ashgabat introduced a new procedure for registering, through a "waiting list" , for receiving documents for issuing passports, according to the website of the diplomatic mission. This was done "in connection with the large number of requests on the issue of filing documents for issuing passports."

From February 22, all applicants will have to sign up for a “waiting list” through the website for subsequent automatic appointment of the date and time of admission. For each visitor, only one entry is available in the "waiting list", duplicate applications will be automatically deleted by the system.

After creating an application, a new section “waiting list” will appear in the site menu, which will display the data on the application and its serial number.

At the same time, those who signed up, who were assigned a number from 1 to 100 by the program, will see their current serial number in the "waiting list". Applications of other citizens will have the status “under approval”.

In December 2021, the Russian Embassy in Turkmenistan created an online waiting list function for those wishing to fly out of Turkmenistan on export flights. The waiting period for a flight is at least a month.
