Foreign and Domestic Buyers Engage in Multimillion-Dollar Transactions at Turkmenistan’s Commodity Exchange

Ashgabat: The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan witnessed a significant level of activity last week, with 23 transactions recorded. The aggregate value of these transactions exceeded 29 million 355 thousand US dollars, marking a substantial economic engagement at the exchange. According to Turkmenistan State News Agency, foreign currency transactions saw interest from business representatives hailing from the United Arab Emirates, Trkiye, and Afghanistan. These international buyers procured various commodities including base oil, aviation kerosene, and liquefied gas, all produced at the technological units of the State Concern «Trkmennebit. Additionally, sodium chloride, urea, ECO 93 gasoline from the State Concern «Trkmenhimiýa, and oil waste residues were also part of the acquisitions. Furthermore, the exchange facilitated the sale of licorice roots and rhizomes, assorted terry products, denim fabric, cotton yarn, and tea drink infused with licorice root to buyers from Germany, Se rbia, Kyrgyzstan, and Ukraine. These transactions further contributed to the total turnover of over 29 million 355 thousand US dollars. On the domestic front, Turkmenistan's own businessmen participated actively by purchasing thick licorice root extract, valued at 4 million 200 thousand manats, showcasing the diverse range of products exchanged within the local market.
