Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan meets with new representatives of UNDP, UNICEF and WHO

On December 4, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met with the newly appointed heads of representative offices of international organizations in Turkmenistan.

Narine Sahakyan , who replaced Natia Natsvlishvili, became UNDP Resident Representative . With Sahakyan, Meredov discussed issues of Turkmenistan's accession to the WTO and the UNDP Cooperation Program in Turkmenistan from 2021 to 2025.

Previously, Sahakyan was Deputy and then Head of the UNDP Office in Macedonia.

UNICEF Representative Office in Turkmenistan was headed by Mohammad Fayazi . He replaced Christina Weigand in this post . Fayaz previously headed the department of UNICEF field operations (Chief of Field Operations) in Lebanon and Afghanistan.

Yegor Zaitsev , who replaced Paulina Karvovska, became the head of the Country Office of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Turkmenistan . During the meeting, Zaitsev and Meredov discussed the results of the visit to Turkmenistan of the WHO Regional Director for Europe Hans Kluge , as well as the WHO mission .

Previously, Zaitsev headed the WHO Representative Office in Belarus and Armenia.

It is worth noting that all three representatives were appointed to their posts in October, but the ceremonial presentation of copies of credentials to the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan took place only now.
