Priority issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed during a telephone conversation by Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.
The interlocutors exchanged views on the prospects for Turkmen-Saudi cooperation and determined a plan of joint actions to expand partnership between the two countries in various fields.
The head of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry expressed gratitude to the Saudi side for the good organization of the two-day visit of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Saudi Arabia to perform the Umra Hajj (small pilgrimage).
The parties agreed to organize a visit of the Deputy Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia to Turkmenistan by the end of June this year to conduct bilateral political consultations. An agreement was also reached on organizing a regular meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Saudi Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation in Riyadh in the second half of this year. During the talks, it was noted that these events will be held in the context of preparations for the official visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Saudi Arabia.
