Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan discussed preparations for Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s visit to Tashkent

On January 10, the Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan - Rashid Meredov and Uzbekistan - Abdulaziz Kamilov discussed by phone the implementation of the agreements reached by the presidents of the countries during their meeting in St. Petersburg in December 2021 at the informal CIS Summit . This was reported by the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.

In addition, it became known that in the near future, at the invitation of the Uzbek side, a delegation from Turkmenistan, headed by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers in charge of economic issues, will visit Tashkent. The name of the deputy prime minister has not been named, but since July 2021, the son of the head of state Serdar Berdimuhamedov has been in charge of the economy and finance in the Cabinet of Ministers .

Earlier, from January 8 to 9, Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the head of the Turkmen delegation (accompanied by Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov) visited Iran, where he held a number of meetings with members of the Iranian government and President Ebrahim Raisi .
