Founder of ASCS Highlights Growth of Heart Centers in Azerbaijan

Baku: Nearly 60 heart centers are currently operating in Azerbaijan, as shared by Kamran Musayev, the founder and honorary chairman of the Azerbaijan Society for Cardiovascular Surgery (ASCS). Musayev made this announcement during his speech at the 9th Baku Heart Days International Congress, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Musayev detailed that approximately 20 of these centers are equipped to perform cardiovascular surgery, while the remaining 40 specialize in invasive cardiology. These centers are not confined to the capital city of Baku but are distributed throughout various regions of Azerbaijan, reflecting a nationwide commitment to cardiac care.

Musayev also emphasized the significant contributions of the National Leader in establishing Azerbaijan's statehood and advancing its healthcare system. He noted that by the year 2000, Azerbaijan was already equipped with modern healthcare facilities, with a particular focus on diagnosing and treating cardiovascular diseases. At that time, the Central Clinic was the sole facility offering comprehensive services in diagnostics, intervention, and open-heart surgery.
