Four days after criticism Berdymukhammedov briefed on increased exports of domestic products

On 3 August 2018 at the session of the Cabinet of Ministers Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov instructed that ministers together with Turkmenistan's Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs increase exports of Turkmen merchandise.

The state information agency TDH reported on 7 August that four days later, at the joint session of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Security Council two deputy Prime Ministers: Kerim Durdymyradov,overseeing industry, and Chaly Gylydjov, overseeing trade, briefed the President on increasing the range of high quality products which are in demand in the domestic and external markets and rendering assistance to local manufacturers.

In order to facilitate import substitution and boost production of domestic competitive export-oriented products President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov called for establishing new enterprises, including joint ventures with foreign partners.

The President called on undertaking active measures to promote domestic merchandise overseas and find new forms of public-private partnership, including assisting manufacturing facilities with establishing contacts with business communities of other countries and ensuring food abundance by offering domestic produce.
