French Actor Gerard Depardieu Found Guilty of Sexually Assaulting Two Women

Paris: French actor Gerard Depardieu, known for his extensive film career, has been found guilty of sexually assaulting two women. The Paris court ruled that the 76-year-old actor, who has starred in over 200 films, committed the offenses during the filming of the 2021 movie "Les Volets Verts."

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the assaults occurred while both victims were working behind the scenes on the film. The women reported feeling frightened and intimidated by Depardieu's actions, which delayed their decision to come forward. Amelie, a set designer and one of the victims, expressed her fear during the incidents, stating, "I was petrified."

The court's decision marks a significant development in the case, highlighting the challenges faced by the victims in speaking out against the influential actor. Depardieu's conviction underscores ongoing issues related to power dynamics and accountability within the film industry.
