On October 21, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Milli Gengesh (upper house of parliament) of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held talks with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and presented him with an Alabai puppy.
The parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, interaction on regional and international platforms . the press service of the President of UzbekistanIt was also said at the meeting that “the inter-parliamentary dialogue is becoming the most important factor in the further rapprochement of the two peoples.”
– We must continue to effectively use the potential of inter-parliamentary cooperation to monitor the implementation of agreements at the highest level , – said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The state information agency TDH briefly reports that the meeting discussed the expansion of inter-parliamentary contacts. It was reported that “they contribute to the enrichment of the partnership between the two countries, and also make a significant contribution to strengthening peace and stability in the Central Asian region.”
The publication also notes that the donated puppy was given the nickname Alabai.
In the fall of 2017, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov presented an Alabai puppy to Russian President Vladimir Putin , and in May 2021 to the head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov .
