G. Berdymukhammedov calls for keeping strict record of tourists

At the Cabinet Session held on 25 April Chairperson of Turkmenistan's State Migration Office Mergen Gurdov briefed the President on measures undertaken to regulate the entry of foreign visitors arriving in the country.

The state information agency TDH reports that in response Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov emphasized that the activities of all departments of the Migration office must be committed to keeping strict record of foreign nationals arriving in Turkmenistan on business or as tourists.

The head of the state instructed that conditions be ensured to allow foreign visitors access to migration procedures, complying with international standards.

At the same time, wrapping up the meeting Berdymukhammedov charged the officials with the task of creating the necessary conditions to host international visitors arriving in Turkmenistan to participate in the festivities devoted to the Turkmen Horse Day, and offering hospitality, which is intrinsic to Turkmen people.

In November 2018 Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov demanded that Chairperson of Turkmenistan's State Statistics Committee Serdar Cholukov attract more tourists and foster the development of wellness and environment tourism. Two weeks later Bakhargul Abdyeva, Deputy Prime Minister overseeing culture and mass media gave a progress report on launching digital tourism in Turkmenistan within the framework of the economy's digitalization program.
