Gazprom and Turkmenistan aim at longterm and strategic partnership, Alexey Miller

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in the capital of Turkmenistan received Chairman of the Board, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of PJSC Gazprom Alexei Miller. The head of the Russian company told about the main results of the meeting in the commentary to the TV channel Vatan, the report of which was shown this morning.

We discussed with the President of Turkmenistan cooperation in the gas sector. The meeting was held in a warm, friendly and constructive atmosphere, said A. Miller. We see great prospects for expanding our cooperation in the gas sector, and, most importantly, it is an understanding that we will literally continue our work in the near future under the contract for the purchase of Turkmen gas.

I told President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov about the achievements of our company. We can offer those technologies and the experience of using equipment and equipment that Gazprom has to our Turkmen partners, Miller said.

We also touched upon the development of our cooperation for the medium term. This is not only the resumption of gas supplies in the near future, but also the prospects for cooperation in the next decade, the head of Gazprom said.

So, the horizon of those plans and goals that we discussed today is really longterm and most importantly, it's strategic, Miller emphasized. First of all, of course, this cooperation in the purchase of Turkmen gas, this is the main direction in which we have always worked. Secondly, these are issues related to cooperation in the supply of equipment, which is produced in the Russian Federation.

We also discussed issues relating to the situation in international markets, which dynamics exist in the current period of time and in the longterm, gas as the primary energy source, Miller said. This applies to gas processing, gas chemistry, the emergence of new products, goods produced in the gas chemical industry. In this regard, we noted that gas processing, gas chemistry is an interesting direction of the gas industry, since it is possible to export not gas, but products of its processing.

As for pipelines, here Russian pipe deliveries for pipeline projects to the Turkmen market are another promising area of our partnership, said the head of Gazprom.

As previously reported, the basic document is the current intergovernmental Agreement between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation on cooperation in the gas sector until 2028, on the basis of which the parties carry out the relevant work.
