Geomagnetic Storm Expected to Persist for Two More Days

Shamakhi: The geomagnetic storm currently affecting the region is anticipated to last until February 12, as reported by the Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory named after Nasreddin Tusi.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the storm, classified at a G1 (weak) level, is continuing due to the influence of negative polarity High-Speed Coronal Hole Flows. On February 10, the storm's impact is sustained by these flows, and further activity is expected on February 12, stemming from the Coronal Mass Ejection that occurred on February 8.

The observatory has communicated that the ongoing geomagnetic conditions are a result of these astronomical phenomena, highlighting the influence of both the High-Speed Coronal Hole Flows and the recent Coronal Mass Ejection. The forecast suggests that the effects will persist for the next couple of days, indicating prolonged geomagnetic activity.
