The Department of Astrophysics of the Physics Faculty of Baku State University (BSU) announced the space weather forecast for the first 3 days of December, BSU told APA. Note that although many flares of class C (which cannot affect the Earth) occurred during the past three days, the solar activity was at a low level. Class M (R1-R2-minor-radio wave blocking) and X (strong) ignitions are less likely to occur. The interplanetary magnetic field and the speed of the solar wind are within the norm. In the morning on December 1, the Kp coefficient, which indicates the logarithmic index of the magnetic storm, will be in the range of 5-6, and will decrease to the range of 3-4 in the afternoon. Currently, the geomagnetic field is at the level of a G1 geomagnetic storm. A G2 level geomagnetic storm is observed in high latitudes. On the night of December 2, the Kp coefficient will be 4-5, and then it will decrease and change in the range of 2-3. It is predicted that the geomagnetic field will be quiet on December 3.
