Georgia’s CEC announces victory for “Georgian Dream” party in parliamentary election

BAKU: The chair of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia Giorgi Kalandarishvili has announced the results of the parliamentary election held on Saturday in the country, Trend reports. Kalandarishvili said that data from 3,100 out of 3,111 polling stations have been processed. "The remaining polling stations are located abroad, and the information will be updated as soon as the data is received," he added. He confirmed that the ruling party "Georgian Dream" secured victory with 54.08 percent of the votes. Following them are four parties that surpassed the 5 percent threshold: "Coalition for Change" with 10.92 percent, "United National Movement" with 10.12 percent, "Strong Georgia" with 8.72 percent, and "For Georgia" with 7.76 percent.
