Baku: Germany's Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock has unequivocally labeled Hamas as a terrorist organization and called for the immediate release of Israeli hostages held in Gaza. Speaking at a press conference during the COP29 event in Baku, Baerbock shared her insights from multiple visits to Gaza over the past year, emphasizing the dire humanitarian situation. According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Baerbock stressed the importance of addressing the suffering and fate of children, regardless of their location. She condemned the actions of Hamas, particularly targeting innocent civilians and attacking schools and hospitals in Gaza. Highlighting the complexity of the global situation, she pointed out the intertwined issues of the Middle East conflict and climate change. Baerbock reiterated Germany's demand for the release of more than 100 innocent hostages, including children, who are currently held in Gaza, and expressed regret over the lack of progress in securing their freedom so far.
