Chairman of the Mejlis (Parliament) Gulshat Mammedova received credentials from the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to Turkmenistan Sauti Yahaya Iddi.
During the conversation, the diplomat noted that Ghana highly appreciated the open door policy pursued by Turkmenistan and initiatives to ensure global security, stability and sustainable development.
The Speaker of the Turkmen Parliament and the Ambassador of Ghana exchanged views on the priorities of Turkmenistan's foreign policy, emphasizing the country's commitment to broad international cooperation, including with African states.
The meeting noted the importance of intensifying the interstate dialogue of friendly countries both in a bilateral format and within the framework of international organizations, primarily the UN. A separate topic of discussion was the prospects for inter-parliamentary interaction.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Ghana was also received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, where opportunities for expanding the partnership between the two countries were considered.
