Baku: On November 7, the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, accompanied by a group of military personnel of the Azerbaijan Army, paid a solemn visit to the graves of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and Martyrs in commemoration of Victory Day. According to Azeri-Press News Agency, roses were arranged at the monument of the National Leader in the Alley of Honor and his memory was commemorated with reverence. The leadership of the Ministry also visited the grave of esteemed ophthalmologist and academician Zarifa Aliyeva and paid tribute by laying roses. The commemoration continued with a visit to the Alley of Shehids, where flowers were placed at the graves of Martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, as well as at the Eternal Flame monument. The leadership and personnel of the Defense Ministry then arrived at the Second Alley of Shehids, where the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed by the military orchestra, and the memory of Martyrs was commemorated. Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, the Minister of Defense, engaged with the families and relatives of the Martyrs, sharing sincere conversations over a tea table and inquiring about their concerns and well-being. The families expressed their gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev, First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva, and the leadership of the Ministry of Defense for their attention and care.
