Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov did not attend the opening of the power plant in Lebap

On September 3, a grand opening of a gas turbine power plant with a capacity of 432 megawatts took place in the Chardzhevsky etrap, on the territory of the operating Lebap state power plant, the state information agency TDH reports .

The celebrations were attended by members of the government, heads of ministries and departments, the khyakimlik of the Lebap velayat, as well as a Japanese delegation that arrived in Turkmenistan. Neither President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov , nor his son, Deputy Prime Minister Serdar Berdimuhamedov , who usually open all significant sites in the country, did not participate in the ceremony.

The power plant was built by the Turkmenenergo State Corporation jointly with Sumitomo Corporation, Mitsubishi Power Ltd (Japan) and Rönesans Holding (Turkey).

TDH notes that thanks to the launch of the power plant, " the reliability of energy supply to consumers in the velayat will increase , new jobs will be created, and it will be possible to increase the volume of electricity supplies to Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan."

State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan Kiyoshi Ejima spoke at the ceremony . The facility received the Sumitomo Corporation Certificate that M701DA gas turbines were installed at a hydroelectric power plant for the first time in Central Asia, as well as the Certificate for Innovative Technologies from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology and the Certificate for Sustainability and Efficiency of the Max Plank Energy Institute (Germany).

Following the launch ceremony on behalf of the President, the power plant team was handed the keys to new official vehicles.
