The country's oil and gas industry has accumulated a lot of unresolved issues and it is necessary to immediately begin to address them. It was stated by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at the enlarged meeting of the government on Wednesday, which discussed the results of the socio-economic development of the country in the first quarter of 2018.
Addressing the audience, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that a lot of work has begun-the construction of a new section of the international gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI), as well as power lines and fiber-optic communication.
As the President pointed out, in this regard, it is necessary to build a railway from the Galkynysh gas field to Afghanistan, as well as to continue the development of this largest natural pantry of "blue fuel". For the organization of the planned works requires an experienced and skilled Manager.
In this context, the President of Turkmenistan announced the decision to release Maksat Babayev from the post of Deputy Prime Minister and appoint him to the post related to the construction of the TAPI gas pipeline.
President addressed his appointed meeting for the position of Deputy Prime Minister for energy, Myratgeldi Meredov some specific instructions, including increasing the volume of production in the country of oil and its processing.
- It is necessary to actively develop the natural gas processing industry to establish the production of ammonia, carbamide and carbon black, as well as to systematically increase the production of liquefied gas, which is in great demand in the world markets, - said the President, stressing that these industries are the most important areas of economic diversification, an alternative to natural gas exports through pipelines.
In addition, it is necessary to continue work on technical re-equipment of the fuel and energy sector, to accelerate the construction of factories, the development and commissioning of newly discovered oil and gas fields, the head of state noted.
Having ordered to analyze the state of Affairs in the fuel and energy sector and take measures to establish its effective activities, the President of Turkmenistan wished M. Meredov success in his new job and signed the relevant documents.
In continuation of the topic, the head of state once again stressed that in order to properly organize the construction of the TAPI pipeline, an experienced leader is needed.
