On March 25, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held his first meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, at which he reappointed the vice-premiers.
The meeting was also attended by ex-president, chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Milli Gengesh (upper house of parliament) Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov , the state information agency TDH reports .
After the meeting, Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov (that's what TDH calls him now) turned to the President of Turkmenistan with a personal request .
“As you know, I have been working in a leadership position for 40 years now, and have been involved in politics for 25 years . Due to the large amount of work during this time, I could not rest to the fullest, ”said the ex-president and asked to be granted a leave of absence from April 1.
Berdimuhamedov Sr. noted that during his vacation he would complete work on new books , and also properly prepare for the Inter-Parliamentary Forum of Central Asian countries and Russia scheduled for this year, the Dialogue of Women in Central Asia and Russia and other international events.
For the period of vacation, he asked to entrust the temporary performance of official duties to his deputy Kasymguly Babayev .
Serdar Berdimuhamedov granted the request.
