On October 12, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the President of the International Group of Companies ARETI Igor Makarov , the state information agency TDH reported .

At the meeting, the businessman reported on the ongoing work within the framework of the concluded contracts and presented new proposals for the development of the Turkmen Caspian shelf for consideration by the head of state .

Berdimuhamedov stressed that the main requirement for contractor companies is the use of the latest technological solutions, advanced scientific developments and compliance with environmental safety standards.

At the end of the meeting, the head of ARETI confirmed his readiness to continue to participate in programs successfully implemented in the country, the newspaper notes.

In August 2019, Makarov was appointed a "specialist expert" under the presidential adviser on oil and gas issues Yagshigeldy Kakaev . In July 2020, Kakaev died of pneumonia.
