On October 10 and 11, Ashgabat hosted the meetings of the Council of CIS Foreign Ministers and the Council of CIS Heads of State.
After the events, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov awarded the CIS Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev the state award of Turkmenistan - the Order of Bitaraplyk (Neutrality) for active international activities and a great personal contribution to strengthening friendship and cooperation between countries and peoples.
In turn, at the end of the meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of State, a ceremony was held to award Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with the medal of the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States (IFES) "For Merits in the Development of Humanitarian Cooperation".
According to the state news agency TDH , the award was presented by the chairman of the board of the IFES, the ambassador of Azerbaijan to Russia Polad Bulbul oglu and the co-chair of the board, Special Representative of the President of Russia for International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoy
Recall that only this year, the President of Turkmenistan awarded the Deputy Chairman of the Intergovernmental Coordinating Council for Seed Production of the CIS Ivan Kuzmin (in July) and the King of Bahrain Hamad Bin Is Al Khalif (in March) with the Order of Bitaraplyk .
