Head of the CIS Observation Mission Sergey Lebedev congratulates President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the victory of the Elections

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Chairman of the Executive Committee - Executive Secretary of the Commonwealth of Independent States Sergei Lebedev, who arrived in Ashgabat as the head of the CIS Observation Mission for the presidential election.

Sergei Lebedev congratulated the Head of State with a convincing victory in the election of the President of Turkmenistan and wished him further success in large-scale activities in the highest public office and implementation of the planned programs.

After having informed the President of the country on the conclusions of the observers mission of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Chairman of the Executive Committee - CIS Executive Secretary emphasized that the voting results are a clear expression of absolute confidence of the people in the Turkmen leader, whose creative domestic and foreign policy is a reliable guarantor of peaceful and prosperous life of the Turkmen people.

Expressing gratitude for the congratulations and kind words, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that our country will continue to follow the course of all-round progress and innovation development, designed to ensure the prosperity of the Motherland and the high standard of living of its population, as well as aimed at building constructive cooperation in the regional and global dimensions.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and his guest exchanged views on the prospects of cooperation within the Commonwealth in various fields, and have also touched upon the preparations for the upcoming events.

The lively discussion has also included the subject of sports development and promotion of the principles of a healthy lifestyle in the society, especially among young people.

On this occasion, the guest also cordially congratulated President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with the landmark event - the decision of the UN General Assembly on the establishment of the International Day of Neutrality, which will henceforth be celebrated on 12th of December, and adoption of corresponding resolution. As has been stressed by Mr. Lebedev, this fact is an eloquent proof of the high international prestige of Turkmenistan and its significant role in the United Nations, another evidence of recognition of our country in ensuring peace, security and well-being.

Chairman of the Executive Committee - Executive Secretary of the Commonwealth of Independent States also thanked President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the high evaluation of the structure headed by him, and for the friendly support constantly provided to the CIS Executive Committee in its course of work.
