Hungary, Azerbaijan – fraternal countries, PM Orban says

Hungary and Azerbaijan are fraternal countries, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said at the summit of the UN Special Program for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA) in Baku, Trend reports. “Hungary and Azerbaijan have very good relations. We are fraternal with the countries of Central Asia and Azerbaijan,” Orban emphasized. He also noted that there are many companies in Hungary that invest in Azerbaijan. “Europe perceives Central Asia as a region connecting digital and transportation routes. We believe that secure transportation is accessible along the East-West route,” the prime minister stated. Hungary supports all initiatives that strengthen regional cooperation with the countries of Central Asia, he added. Baku is hosting a summit dedicated to the 25th anniversary of SPECA. The UN SPECA program was established on March 26, 1998. At present, the SPECA member states are Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. SPECA provides a platform for sub -regional cooperation to realize the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that can best be achieved through regional cooperation. Source: Trend News Agency
