BAKU: In October, representatives from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) conducted visits to Armenian detainees held in Baku, as notified by Azerbaijani authorities. The ICRC's visits aimed to facilitate the exchange of family news for the detainees. According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the detainees were met in private settings, allowing them to communicate with their families. The ICRC, as part of its mandate, evaluates the treatment of detainees and the conditions of their detention during such visits. The organization strives to ensure that detainees can either restore or maintain contact with their families. The ICRC stated that any observations and recommendations from these visits are communicated solely to the detaining authorities, in line with its procedures.
