In the morning of 31 March IMO messenger, popular among local residents, was blocked in Turkmenistan. In the evening the same day the work of the application was restored.
Correspondents of Chronicles of Turkmenistan report that during the breakdown the messenger could be used with the help of VPN application. In other country IMO operated in a routine mode. This suggests that the messenger failed by the fault of the Internet provider Altyn Asyr rather than the problems with the application.
It is unknown whether the messenger was blocked intentionally or because of some technical problems.
As of today IMO remains one of a very few, if not the only available communications applications in Turkmenistan.
