In January 2022, construction of the 1st specialized military school named after Berdimuhamed Annayev , the grandfather of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, will begin in Ashgabat . The state information agency TDH reports .

The school for 700 students will be built at the intersection of Saparmurat Turkmenbashi and Atamurat Niyazov avenues. The construction will be carried out by the Turkish company Rönesans Endüstri Tesisleri Insaat Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. Its opening is scheduled for August 2024.

Previously, the construction site housed a residential area with multi-storey buildings, including a house well-known in the capital built in Soviet times, which housed the Veteran store. The demolition of these houses began in January 2021.

In July, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was shown projects for the construction of new facilities in Ashgabat, including this school.

As reported earlier this week, at the corner of the intersection of Saparmurat Turkmenbashi and Atamurat Niyazov avenues, next to the future school, the demolition of at least four four-story residential buildings has begun, in the place of which a new building for city services will be built.

The reconstruction of the avenues was completed in October 2020 . In the center of the new roundabout, the Mahabat monument was erected, made in the form of a cube with eight-pointed stars on the edges with built-in monitors.
