On May 26, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov left for the Dashoguz velayat on a holiday trip , the state information agency TDH reports .
There, the head of state inspected the construction of a 500 kilovolt power transmission line. Deputy Prime Minister Charymyrat Purchekov , who is in charge of the construction, industrial and energy complex, presented:
• projects and schemes of the energy system of the country and its export directions ;
• Schemes and projects for transferring the Dashoguz and Ahal state power plants to combined management ;
In February 2022, it became known that the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan and the Asian Development Bank signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the transfer of the Akhal and Dashoguz state-owned power plants from conventional to combined management.
• location of a solar-wind power plant with a capacity of 10 megawatts in the Serdar etrap of the Balkan velayat;
• master plan and project of the Center for the repair and maintenance of power equipment in the Buzmeyinsky etrap of Ashgabat.
The head of state noted that the commissioning of the Balkan-Dashoguz power line "will contribute to the formation of a single energy ring in the country."
Then Serdar Berdimuhamedov went to the livestock farm "Garagum" of the Gyorogly etrap, where he visited the pasture of the shepherd camel breeder Atamyrat Ishanberdiev . He said that he “works here on a rental basis and that he is satisfied with everything,” TDH notes. The President gave him gifts.
After that, Serdar Berdimuhamedov inspected the state of irrigation systems in the fields of the region from a helicopter. He instructed Annageldi Yazmyradov , the adviser on agricultural issues accompanying him, to maintain the irrigation networks of the velayat in proper condition.
TDH reports that work is underway to improve the water supply of the Dashoguz velayat. In particular, preparations are underway for the construction of a large artificial reservoir in the valley between the Shasen and Turkmen rivers, which originate from the Dueboyun reservoir. The Shasenem riverbed will be lined with concrete.
The President instructed to continue work to strengthen food security and improve the reclamation state of agricultural areas.
Earlier that day, Berdymukhammedov severely reprimanded the head of the State Committee for Water Resources “for improper performance of official duties, weakening control over measures taken in the Dashoguz velayat to improve water supply, ensure rational water use, create additional reserves and efficiently operate industry facilities.”
Recall that at a meeting on May 10, the president demanded that Deputy Prime Minister Esenmyrat Orazgeldiyev , who is in charge of the agro-industrial complex , who made working trips to Akhal, Balkan and Dashoguz velayats, resolve the issue of reclamation of fields in Dashoguz velayat. According to the Meteorological Journal, the region has been suffering from low water for the third year in a row.
