In honor of the anniversary of independence, Berdimuhamedov pardoned 2,058 Turkmen citizens and 6 foreign citizens

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a decree pardoning 2,058 Turkmen citizens and 6 foreign citizens, the TDH state news agency reported .

Secretary of the State Security Council Charymyrat Amanov, together with the heads of law enforcement agencies, was instructed to carry out work to release the pardoned from places of detention and reunite them with their families.

The khyakims of velayats, etraps and cities, as well as other leaders were ordered to provide them with jobs.

On May 7, on the eve of Gadyr gijesi, the head of state pardoned 982 citizens of Turkmenistan and 53 foreign citizens, including 16 Jehovah 's Witnesses and three citizens of Iran.
