In Turkmenistan, 40% fewer voters voted in the elections to the State Duma than five years ago

On September 19, elections of deputies of the State Duma of the eighth convocation were held at polling stations in Ashgabat, Mary, Turkmenbashi, Dashoguz and Turkmenabat. 763 voters took part in them , the Russian Embassy in Ashgabat reported on September 24.

Holders of Russian citizenship residing or temporarily staying in Turkmenistan could vote .

Note that in the last elections, which took place in September 2016, 1299 citizens voted in Turkmenistan , including by regions: Ashgabat - 914, Turkmenbashi - 193, Dashoguz - 63, Turkmenabat - 71, Mary - 58.

That is, the number of voters dropped by more than 40%.
