Production of mung bean is growing in Dashoguz Region this year. It is very important in the context of objective on increment of production of food crops as well as for improvement of efficiency of irrigated agriculture as this intermediate crop, which is used in crop rotation after reaping of winter wheat, improves land fertility.
700 hectares are allocated in S. Turkmenbashy district, which is the largest producer of grain in this region of the country. 350 hectares were allocated for this crop in Gurbansoltan eje district.
Having optimal ripening period for local climate conditions, high nutrition properties, this Fabaceae family crop is thought to be resource saving and is perspective due to ability to grow in the zones with minimum water provision. It is worth to mention that some of rural residents of Dashoguz Region have good experience in growing of mung beans in their farms.
Valuable oilseed sesame is among the crops, which volumes will significantly grow in the northern region of Turkmenistan this year. Private structures actively participate in this work.
