On March 14-15, 2023, in the Khorezm region, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Uzbekistan organized a solemn event dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great thinker and classical poet of the East Magtymguly Fragi. Within the framework of the event, a presentation of a collection of poems by Magtymguly Fragi in the uzbek language and an international scientific and practical conference " Magtymguly Fragi - the bridge of Turkmen-Uzbek friendship" took place.
Scientists from the Institute of languages, literature and national manuscripts named after Magtymguly of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, representatives of the Humanitarian Association of Turkmens of the World, the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammed Azadi, the Miras TV and radio channel of the State Committee on Television, broadcasting and cinematography and the newspaper "Turkmenistan".
Uzbek side was attended by representatives of the Ministry of foreign affairs of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of education of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the Hakimlik of the Khorezm region, public organizations, teacher’s staff and students of the universities, as well as representatives of the Turkmen diaspora.
In frames of the event, the participants visited the Ichan Kala memorial complex located in the city of Khiva, as well as the Shirgazy madrasah, where Magtymguly Fragi received his education.
Also, the members of delegations laid flowers at the monument of Magtymguly Fragi, which is installed in the courtyard of the House of Turkmen-Uzbek Friendship, which is located on the territory of the “Uly Howly” historical and memorial complex of the Urgench etrap of the Khorezm region.
Then the delegations took part in the international scientific-practical conference "Makhtumkuli Fraghi - the bridge of Turkmen-Uzbek friendship".
During the conference, scientists and connoisseurs of the literary art of Magtymguly noted that friendly and humanitarian relations between the peoples of the two countries have reached a qualitatively new level in recent years. At the same time, the results of scientific research and the work of Magtymguly Fragi, a great thinker who left an indelible mark on Eastern literature with his work, were discussed in detail. It was also noted that Magtymguly Fragi's poems have been translated into many languages of of the world, including the Uzbek language.
