International seminar on the Caspian Sea starts in Turkmenistan

The seventh training course The Caspian Sea - Sustainable Development and Management began its work in the national tourist zone Avaza on the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea.

The meeting was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the State Enterprise for the Caspian Sea under the President of Turkmenistan, together with the International Ocean Institute. A representative of the West Pacific Center of the International Institute of the Oceans (People's Republic of China) is also invited as a participant in the course.

The course participants are specialists from Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan and Russia, whose work is related to the Caspian Sea. These are employees of oil and gas complexes, foreign ministries, environmental organizations, the transport sector, fisheries organizations, hydrometeorological services, etc.

During the seminar it is planned to consider such issues as the law of the sea, maritime policy, the ecology of the sea, the development of Caspian resources and the preservation of its biodiversity, integrated coastal zone management, maritime, spatial planning and other issues.
