Moscow: The investigation into former Azerbaijani lawyer Elman Pasayev, who previously practiced in Russia and faced accusations of fraud, has reached its conclusion.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has finalized the investigative actions conducted by its military-investigative bodies against the former lawyer. Pasayev is facing charges under Article 159 (4), Article 30 (3), and Article 159 (4) of the Russian Criminal Code, which pertain to "Fraud and especially attempted fraud."

The charges detail that in January 2024, Pasayev allegedly persuaded his acquaintance, Aleksey Blinovskiy, to believe that he could absolve him and his spouse, Yelena Blinovskaya, from criminal accountability in exchange for a substantial monetary sum. Pasayev reportedly acquired over 47 million rubles from Blinovskiy in this fraudulent scheme.

In addition to this, Pasayev is accused of deceiving another individual, Aleksey Zakharov, out of more than 15 million rubles from July 2023 to September 2024 using a similar fraudulent approach.
